you coulda been a contenduh!

Chad Michael Murray was on the Tonight show tonight. for those who don't know this teenybopper hunk, he currently stars on the WB's "One Tree Hill" and is in the new horror flick "House of Wax." now this kid is 22 years old (my age), and grew up about 15 minutes from me and went to clarence high school. how did he get his start you ask? he got a scholarship from a modeling agency in buffalo.

wanna know happened to me during sometime in my adolescence? i got a scholarship from a modeling agency in buffalo. i turned it down. looking back, i'm not sure why. at the time i seemed pretty adamant about the decision even when they continued to ask me back. seeing chad michael murray on leno tonight made me wonder where i would be right now had i made different decisions back then. had i stayed in acting classes, had i stayed in the prominent western new york children's choir, had i taken the modeling scholarship, had i even stayed in the stupid modeling stuff my parents put me in when i was younger modeling sears clothing or something. when i was a baby my parents had the opportunity to put me in a fisher price commercial (their headquarters is in the town over from my hometown). my aunt and uncle who were/are actors advised them against it, seeing what the business did to child actors and wanting to protect me from that. where would i be right now? maybe the same place i am now, but probably not. i probably would have ended up persuing acting somewhere else. i can't imagine my life without the people who are around me right now. i can't imagine my life not involved in ministry.

let murray have hollywood. i'll take the steel city any day.
