"Lick an orange, it tastes like orange. Lick a pineapple, it tastes like a pineapple!"
i imagine most of you remember this scene from willy wonka and the chocolate factory. lickable wallpaper. what a thought! well, here in this house we have wearable wallpaper.
around the time my roommates moved into our apartment, they decided to create a collage out of scarves, hats, belts and the occasional ear muff on our hallway wall. while their artistic boldness was entered into with good intentions, what they came out with in the end looked like someone's closet threw up. wearable wallpaper.
i hardly notice it anymore with the exception of when linus thinks it's funny to pull something down off of our interactive interior design. last night i went to a concert and as i was trying to leave my house, i searched for my scarf. in the bedroom? no. in the closet? not there either. how about behind the chair in the living room? nope. this is not an unusual occurrence as i routinely misplace my everyday necessities...like keys. that's alright, i think to myself, i'll just wear the green one. alas, neither are to be found. now, i bet you quick witted readers see where this is going. yep, this morning in my groggy pre-coffee haze i push my way past linus to get to the bathroom when i give our winter collection wall a double take. my scarves!
it's official. i'm going quite nutty.
