tag! you're it.

mair has tagged me. so now that i'm it, i have to list 5 random things about myself. (Rules of the game: Post 5 WEIRD and RANDOM facts about yourself, then at the end of the list the names of 5 people who are next in line to do this. Also leave a comment on their blog to let them know.) so, here we go i suppose.

(1) i skipped school in 1st grade. i lived down the street from my school and i remember going out for recess and thinking that i didn't want to be there and it seemed like a perfectly logical plan that if i didn't want to be there, i should just go home. so i did. my teacher and the principal weren't too happy about that. i was labeled as a "bad kid" until i left when we moved after 2nd grade.

(2) my hometown is also the home of the buffalo bills stadium. because of that i grew up thinking it was totally normal that i went to school with kids of professional football players and that jim kelly would come to my art class or i would see andre reed buying coco puffs at the grocery store. now i realize that it's fairly surreal and strange.

(3) i still sleep with a teddy bear. 2 in fact. one is teddy. he's 21 years old. i got him when my sister was born. the other is franz. my sister got him for me when i graduated college.

(4) i couldn't breathe out of my nose until i was about 8. well not very well at least. i had serious tonsilitis as a kid and as it turned out when they took me to the doctor, adenoids the size of your fist. most of our family videos show me talking in a very congested voice. how they let me into acting classes and the choir sounding like that i'll never know.

(5) in fifth grade i wanted to be (among other things) an anthropologist. who wants to be an anthropologist at 10? i mean really.

so all my facts generally had to do with growing up but they were the most random things i could think of. now it's my turn to tag someone. The Eternal Student, happydaydeadfish, Random Neural Firings, ianluke, you're it. i couldn't think of anyone else to tag, but if you read this, you're it!
