connect. experience. live.

that has been the tag line for threenails for the past several years. here it is lived out.
the following are the faces of some friends here in pittsburgh that in every defineable way could be called family. most of these are from memorial day in the opats backyard in bethel park. it has become a tradition, my friend family and i to gather here for the summer holidays. there is always lots of food, games of backgammon and risk, "tramp ball" - a game on the trampoline that has been developed over the past several years, laying on the grass, laughing and sharing in community together. relationships are messy, and we're all going through changes and learning a little more about ourselves and the way life goes with the passing days...months...years. but for these couple hours, life feels serene and this concept of family, for better or worse gains deeper meaning.

i didn't. i discovered the wonder of picture CD's developed from my good ol' SLR until i can afford a digital. pretty good for an SLR, huh?

I would say instead, "they look good enough to be from an SLR!" The clarity and the vividness of the colors is SO hard to find in a digital camera. My camera sometimes gets it just right, but more often than not, I'm in too much of a hurry to use it properly.
